Hypocrite?

Job one of the most righteous people ever to live on this earth (Job 1:1), so much that even the LORD bragged on him (Job 1:8) was called a hypocrite (Job 15:34).

His closest friends Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar couldn't be an encouragement to him in his deepest time of need. Instead they accused him of being secretly evil and believed that bad things only came upon those who were living in sin. Job had just lost his sons and daughters, his cattle, his servants, to terrible events and his body was racked with pain from boils covering his body from head to toe. Through all this, he praised God and said, "Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD." Job 1:21 Job overcame his trial and the LORD blessed him immensely. Now Job is known as one of the greatest Christians ever to have lived.

Instead of being like Job's friends and jumping to conclusions when we see others going through a trial or a hard time, we should be an encouragement to them and pray for them. Not kick them down and say, "well they probably deserved it." We should never "assume" that when bad things happen it's because people "deserve" it. After all, they might just be a much better Christian than you could ever hope to be.
